They got things started off great with an awesome tea party/ croquet game routine choreographed by Wade and Amanda Robson. I gotta say I am loving them as a duo, and this routine is awesome. I’m going to need to watch it a couple more times so I can scrutinize everyone individually, but I loved it!!! It reminded me of Alice In Wonderland a little bit, which I always appreciate!
Kent and Lauren were the first duo of competitors to hit the stage, and they took on a TRAVIS WALL jazz piece with Mark and Katherine! Are you kidding me?!?! That was awesome! So impressed with Kent and Lauren! And Travis! It was dark and twisty, quirky and wonderful! It showed off awesome lines, awesome tumbling, and all sorts of personality. I am going to watch this like 7 more times, it was great!
Lexie and Melinda are up next with a TYCE broadway routine with Allison and Lauren! Love that UCLA shout out from Alexie! Go Bruins! They’re dancing to Sweet Charity music, so I love it already! OMG ALLISON HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU!!! All four of them were awesome, but I couldn’t take my eyes off her! Nigel complimented the technique of Melinda and Alexie, but tells them to bring more fire when competition starts.
Jose is the sole competitor for a NAPYTABS hip hop routine with Twitch, Comfort, and Dominic! OMG OMG OMG WOW! This is turning out to be too good for one night! Human jump rope? Check. Roll around and take off sweatshirt with your feet? Check. Hit everything SO HARD? CHECK! Welcome back Comfort, you kicked ass! Twitch and Dom, I love you as always. That was amazing!
Cristina, Anya and Pasha are up next with a JASON GILKISON threesome ballroom dance. Battle anyone? Jason likes to keep it hot, and he definitely did. There really is no comparing the chemistry between Anya and Pasha, but Cristina really held her own up there. Super hot, but I still think Anya is the sexiest dancer I’ve ever seen. Shout out to the costume department for that sparkly madness. I want it.
The comeback kids (aka Alex Wong and Billy Bell) dancing to Mia?! With Ade?! AMAZING. Why wasn’t that longer?!?! I guess that’s kind of the point, but I just wanted to watch them dance more! Loved Billy as the little one with the toy truck. He captured that youth perfectly! Alex is such a strong and powerful dancer, it’s astounding. Ade, you can do anything. Power trio right here! Loved it, Mia! Well done!
Adicheke, Ashley and Robert rocked a Sonya piece alongside Neil and Courtney! My heart just skipped a beat, literally. Love this song! Sonya is so great at highlighting the dancer’s strengths! Robert’s power/ grace combo, Ashley’s extensions, Adicheke’s jumps that are so powerful yet so light on the landing. It was quintessential Sonya, and as usual I loved it!
My jaw is like on the ground right now; I am just that impressed with the talent this season! Top 11 are phenomenal! All-stars that I already loved have improved by leaps and bounds! The choreographers are on point already. It’s going to be a rockin’ season, and I seriously don’t want anyone to get kicked off at all. Let’s just have them all dance every week, they’ll accumulate points and then the winner can be decided at the end of the season! Sound good to anyone else???
